AI Terms & AI Privacy Disclosure

These AI Terms & AI Privacy Disclosure ("AI Terms") explain how artificial intelligence ("AI") and machine-learning technologies may be used within DuruVault and the rules that apply when you use AI-powered features.

These AI Terms supplement the DuruVault Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict between these AI Terms and another DuruVault policy, the more specific provision relating to AI will apply to the extent of that conflict.

By using an AI-powered feature within DuruVault, you acknowledge and agree to these AI Terms.

1. About DuruVault AI

DuruVault may use AI and machine-learning technologies to provide, improve, secure, and support certain features of the platform. Depending on the features available to you, AI may assist with functions such as:

• Document organization and classification
• Document and file analysis
• Optical character recognition ("OCR")
• Information extraction
• Search and discovery
• Summarization
• Document insights
• Data structuring
• Verification assistance
• Fraud and security detection
• Abuse prevention
• Customer support
• Product improvement
• Other AI-assisted features introduced by DuruVault

Not all AI features may be available to all users, plans, locations, or account types.

2. AI Is an Assistive Technology

DuruVault AI is designed to assist users and does not replace professional judgment.

AI-generated information may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, misunderstood, or generated incorrectly. You are responsible for reviewing important AI-generated information before relying on it, particularly when making decisions involving:

• Legal matters
• Immigration
• Employment
• Education
• Financial matters
• Identity
• Government requirements
• Medical or health-related matters
• Business decisions
• Compliance
• Contracts or other legally significant documents

DuruVault does not represent that AI-generated information is always accurate, complete, current, or suitable for a particular purpose.

3. AI Does Not Independently Verify Truth

AI processing does not, by itself, establish that information contained in a document is authentic, accurate, legally valid, or issued by a legitimate authority.

AI may assist with identifying information or patterns, but AI analysis should not be interpreted as independent certification of a document.

Where DuruVerify or another DuruVault verification process provides a verification status, that status is governed by the applicable DuruVault verification requirements and disclaimers.

4. Your Documents and AI Processing

If you choose to use an AI-powered feature involving your documents, DuruVault may process the relevant document or information as necessary to provide that feature. Depending on the feature, processing may include:

• Reading document text
• Extracting information
• Classifying documents
• Identifying fields
• Generating summaries
• Answering questions about documents
• Comparing information
• Detecting potentially unusual or suspicious activity
• Converting information into structured data

AI processing will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the applicable feature and the purposes described in DuruVault's Privacy Policy.

5. AI Provider Processing

DuruVault may use third-party AI, machine-learning, OCR, cloud, security, or infrastructure providers to support AI-powered functionality.

Where third-party providers are used, information may be transmitted to or processed by those providers as necessary to provide the requested functionality.

DuruVault will take reasonable steps to select providers and configure services in a manner consistent with DuruVault's security, privacy, contractual, and legal requirements.

Where required by applicable law, DuruVault will provide additional information regarding relevant service providers or subprocessors.

6. AI Training

DuruVault does not represent that information submitted to an AI feature will automatically be used to train a third-party AI model.

Where technically and contractually available, DuruVault will seek to configure third-party AI services so that customer content is not used by those providers for unrelated model training.

However, because AI infrastructure and third-party services may change over time, the specific processing practices applicable to an AI feature may depend on the provider, feature, account type, contractual arrangement, and applicable law.

DuruVault will update this disclosure when material changes to AI processing practices require an update.

7. Human Review

Certain AI-powered operations may involve human review when reasonably necessary for:

• Security investigations
• Fraud or abuse prevention
• Customer support
• Troubleshooting
• Quality assurance
• Legal compliance
• Verification processes
• Platform safety
• Service improvement

Access to customer information should be limited according to applicable access controls and legitimate business or legal purposes.

DuruVault does not provide unrestricted human access to private documents simply because AI functionality is available.

8. Sensitive Information

DuruVault recognizes that users may store highly sensitive information, including identity documents, financial records, educational records, employment records, legal documents, and other personal information.

Users should consider carefully whether a particular AI feature is appropriate for the information they submit.

DuruVault will apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to AI-related processing consistent with the nature of the information and the services being provided.

DuruVault does not intentionally require users to provide sensitive information solely for the purpose of using general AI functionality unless the feature specifically requires it.

9. AI-Generated Content

AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, incorrect interpretations, or unsupported conclusions. You should not treat AI-generated output as:

• Legal advice
• Financial advice
• Medical advice
• Immigration advice
• Professional certification
• Government approval
• Identity certification
• A guarantee of authenticity
• A guarantee of future events or outcomes

You remain responsible for independently verifying important information.

10. AI and DuruVerify

AI may be used as part of supporting technologies associated with document processing, information extraction, fraud detection, or verification workflows.

AI assistance does not by itself create a DuruVerify certification. A DuruVerify record may confirm information according to the applicable DuruVault verification process, but verification does not guarantee:

• Identity beyond the verification process performed
• Character or conduct
• Service quality
• Professional competence
• Financial reliability
• Legal status
• Continuing validity of information
• Future performance
• Future conduct

Users should perform their own due diligence.

11. AI Security

DuruVault may use AI and machine-learning technologies as part of its security and fraud-prevention systems.

These technologies may help identify unusual activity, suspicious patterns, automated abuse, account compromise indicators, or other security risks.

AI-based security systems may produce false positives or false negatives. Security decisions may therefore involve additional controls, review, or verification where appropriate.

12. Automated Decision-Making

DuruVault may use automated systems, including AI-assisted systems, to support security, fraud prevention, abuse detection, account protection, or operational decisions.

Where required by applicable law, DuruVault will provide applicable rights or safeguards relating to automated decision-making.

DuruVault does not intend for AI-generated output alone to serve as the sole basis for significant decisions about a person where applicable law prohibits or restricts such processing.

13. AI Privacy

Information processed through AI features may include:

• Account information
• Uploaded documents
• Document content
• Verification information
• Technical information
• User prompts
• AI-generated responses
• Usage information
• Security information

The categories of information collected and the purposes for processing are described in the DuruVault Privacy Policy.

14. AI Prompts and Responses

If an AI feature allows you to submit questions, instructions, or prompts, those prompts may be processed to generate the requested response. Depending on the feature, prompts and responses may be retained for:

• Providing the service
• Maintaining conversation or feature continuity
• Security
• Troubleshooting
• Abuse prevention
• Quality assurance
• Legal compliance
• Product improvement

Retention will be handled according to applicable DuruVault retention practices and legal requirements.

15. Third-Party AI Services

DuruVault may use third-party providers for AI, OCR, cloud infrastructure, security, analytics, communications, or related functionality.

Third-party providers may process information on behalf of DuruVault or provide infrastructure supporting DuruVault features.

Where applicable, DuruVault will maintain appropriate contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards for such processing.

16. International Processing

AI-related information may be processed in countries other than the country in which you live.

Where required, DuruVault will use appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards for international transfers and processing.

Applicable privacy and data-protection requirements may include laws governing the United States, New York, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and other jurisdictions in which DuruVault operates or provides services.

17. User Responsibilities

When using DuruVault AI, you agree not to:

• Use AI features for unlawful purposes
• Submit information you do not have the right to process
• Attempt to bypass DuruVault security controls
• Use AI features to facilitate fraud or identity theft
• Upload malicious files
• Attempt to obtain another person's private information without authorization
• Use AI output to impersonate another person
• Use AI features to violate applicable law
• Rely on AI output without appropriate verification where accuracy is important

You are responsible for ensuring that you have appropriate rights and authorization to submit information to DuruVault.

18. No Guarantee of AI Availability

AI-powered features may be modified, suspended, limited, discontinued, or replaced at any time. DuruVault does not guarantee that an AI feature will:

• Always be available
• Produce the same result
• Produce accurate results
• Understand every document
• Correctly interpret every request
• Detect every security threat
• Detect every fraudulent document
• Preserve a particular AI model or provider

19. AI Improvements and Model Changes

DuruVault may update, replace, configure, or improve AI technologies used within the platform.

These changes may affect how AI features operate, including the quality, speed, functionality, or output of AI-assisted features.

Where a material change affects privacy practices, DuruVault will update applicable privacy disclosures as required.

20. Data Retention and Deletion

AI-related information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain required records, or satisfy other legitimate purposes described in the Privacy Policy.

When information is deleted from active systems, copies may remain temporarily in backups, disaster-recovery systems, security logs, or legally required records.

DuruVault's Data Deletion Policy provides additional information regarding deletion requests and limitations.

21. AI and Data Deletion Requests

Users may request deletion of eligible personal information and account content in accordance with applicable law and DuruVault's Data Deletion Policy.

Deletion of information processed through an AI feature may not immediately remove every derived, cached, logged, backed-up, or legally retained record.

Where technically and legally appropriate, DuruVault will take reasonable steps to address eligible AI-related information following a valid deletion request.

22. Children's Information

DuruVault is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

AI features should not be used to process a child's personal information unless the user has the appropriate legal authority and the processing is permitted by applicable law.

23. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights relating to personal information processed through DuruVault AI. These may include rights to:

• Access information
• Correct information
• Delete information
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Withdraw consent where applicable
• Obtain information about processing
• Exercise applicable rights concerning automated decision-making

The availability of these rights depends on applicable law.

24. Security Limitations

DuruVault uses reasonable security measures designed to protect information processed through its platform.

However, no technology, AI system, cloud service, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. DuruVault does not claim that its AI systems or platform are "100% secure".

25. Changes to These AI Terms

DuruVault may update these AI Terms from time to time to reflect changes in:

• AI functionality
• Technology
• Third-party providers
• Privacy practices
• Security practices
• Applicable laws
• Regulatory requirements
• Business operations

The "Last Updated" date will be revised when material changes are made. Your continued use of applicable AI features after an update may constitute acceptance of the revised AI Terms to the extent permitted by law.
