DuruSign Electronic Signature Terms
Effective date: October 15, 2026 · DURU LLC, New York, United States
These DuruSign Electronic Signature Terms govern the use of DuruVault's electronic signature features operated by DURU LLC d/b/a DuruVault. By using DuruSign you agree to transact electronically as described below.
1. Consent to Electronic Transactions (ESIGN / UETA)
Under the U.S. Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), you consent to use electronic records and signatures and agree that your electronic signature is legally equivalent to a handwritten signature where permitted by law. You confirm an intent to sign and that your signature is associated with the record you sign.
2. Hardware & Software Requirements
To use, view, and retain electronic records you need a current web browser, internet access, a valid email address, and the ability to download or print documents (e.g., PDF). If these requirements change in a way that creates a material risk you cannot access records, DuruVault will notify you.
3. Audit Trail & Evidence
DuruSign records signing-event evidence to support the validity of an electronically signed record, which may include signer identity/email, timestamps, document viewed/opened/signed events, and the network address observed at the time of key events. A signature certificate / audit record is generated and retained with the signed document. This evidence is retained to support authentication and non-repudiation.
4. eIDAS Considerations
For users in the EU/UK, the eIDAS framework recognizes different signature levels (Simple, Advanced, and Qualified Electronic Signatures). DuruSign provides electronic signatures that are generally characterized as Simple or Advanced depending on configuration. DuruVault is not a Qualified Trust Service Provider and does not provide Qualified Electronic Signatures unless expressly stated for a specific service.
5. Withdrawal of Consent
You may withdraw consent to transact electronically before completing a signature by declining to sign or by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect the validity of records signed before withdrawal. Declining may mean a transaction cannot be completed through DuruSign.
6. Limitations — When Electronic Signatures May Not Apply
Certain documents and transactions are excluded from electronic-signature laws or require specific formalities (for example, certain wills, codicils, testamentary trusts, and some notices or instruments). You are responsible for determining whether an electronic signature is legally sufficient for your particular document and jurisdiction. DuruVault does not provide legal advice.
7. Copies & Retention
You can download and retain signed documents and their audit records. Retention within DuruVault is governed by the Retention & Deletion Policy (/legal/retention).
